Holy smokes- look at dem blueberries!!! It’s a serious shame I don’t have the skills to put those babies into some sort of intricate homemade pie (shout out to my Pops- who I just subscribed to my blog and who knows I’m capable of burning a salad). For the record a good friend of mine was kind enough to give me a Blueberry Crumb recipe… perhaps I’ll muster up the confidence to give that a try 😉 In the meantime my kids are plenty content with shoving them in their mouths au naturel.
Sometimes I have lists. Lists of a million things that need to get done at any given time or day; lists that aren’t even written on paper but rather jumbled in my head like an absolute cluster—-. This past weekend I was ready to conquer .05% of said list on Saturday. We got the kids up, went to Home Depot to rent a landscaping tool, and we were just about ready to put our planting gloves on when we were invited to go blueberry picking in New Hampshire with a favorite family of ours. Per the photos that follow you can conclude that my list got tossed aside that day; but dammit was it worth it in the end 🙂
So my advice to you is to shut down your internal list for one day. Let it go. Give yourself permission to escape for the day. Get outside, read a book, tune out. Enjoy yourself and those around you that you love 🙂
*We enjoyed blueberry picking at Blueberry Bay Farm in Stratham, NH. The 12-acre farm is chemical-free and only uses natural fertilizers. Along with blueberries, they offer picking of strawberries, raspberries, pears, and peaches during seasons. They also offer fresh picking of flowers and herbs, and they made some pretty life-changing blueberry lemonade!
Enjoy your day!
